The Jewish Leadership Council was created to address the rise in attacks against the Jewish community. The council is made up of many members of the Jewish community and has an open membership policy.
The current role of the JLC is to advocate on behalf of victims of any crime, with special emphasis on anti-Semitic or racist crimes. The JLC hopes to ensure proper response from the NYPD and our elected officials.
The JLC leadership holds weekly sessions with NYPD brass and city officials to follow up on open cases and to provide a unified and consistent voice against crime.
